summertime and the feeling is right Sunday, July 06, 2008 |

Well, I will start this off with a few good things. First, summer is and has been here for a while now and I am enjoying. On top of all the great golfing weather, it is great to just sit outside. I really want to go camping this year. Perhaps I just might. Secondly, the new Batman movie will be here in just under two weeks. I happen to love movies, and when it comes to them none rank higher on my wish list than this one. The early reviews are as good as they get and I have not read a single line of negative. I am used to reading reviews that heap some praise but then pull back to reveal some sort of criticism that is leveled at the movie. I think that some critics do this to stay credible if their opinion sucks. Regardless, this is not the case with The Dark Knight and it is all the more amazing that these reviews are for a comic book adaptation. So happy day for Batman, and I very much looking forward to next weekend.

We have new officers. God times as well. However we had our first Sunday and it was completely run by the interim fellow. I believe that he has saved all of his worst-ness for last. This Sunday was an exercise in brown nosing. We happen to have had our new Divisional Commanders on hand this week to install our new Corps Officers. The amount of overly verbose blah that happened was monumental and my wife was so upset she actually walked out. The whole time I was so flabbergasted by the unabashed hamming that I didn't even have time to process the fact that there was not a moment of true worship this morning. I hope that it was noticed by others because if it was not than all hope for my church is lost. It was nothing short of sickening and I could not overstate by anger and disdain for the service that took place. Maybe I can dress up like a bat, drive an awesome car and punch the corrupt "ministers" in their faces. I could be like the not so Christian, but church version of Batman. Sometimes I think that punching someone in the face would feel great. Almost akin to your team scoring a goal in Hockey in the playoffs. It would be such a great release. I understand that we should do unto other as we would have them do unto us, but what if I would want to be punched in the face if I ever acted that way, is it OK then for me to punch them?...It would be awesome if the answer to that question was yes. I'll have to check my Bible.

Mmmmmmm......Batman.
